Welcome to NMSU.”

OFFICIAL RING CEREMONY

The Official Ring of New Mexico State University symbolically captures the uniqueness of NMSU. The top of the ring features our school seal, surrounded by the school name. The triangles of the seal represent the three functions of a land grant University- teaching, research, and service. They also represent the joining of Spanish, Indian, and Anglo cultures in New Mexico and the triangulation of the campus with Interstate 10 joining Interstate 25 in the first principle interchange, the Pan American Highway in North America. The side of the ring displays the Memorial Tower in honor of the Aggies who died in our country’s defense. The other side features the majestic Organ Mountains.

Students wear the ring with the school name facing them. Upon the granting of degrees at Commencement, graduates turn the ring around with the name facing outward. This symbolizes that the graduate is now ready to face the world.

The Official Ring is available to order online click here.

Date: Wednesday, April 24, 2013
Time: 5:30 p.m.

ALUMNI SHARING KNOWLEDGE (A.S.K.)

This program is designed to help students with questions about majors, careers, and even where to live. Alumni interested in sharing information will be put into a database and students can contact them with their questions. When you were in school, how many times did you wish you had someone to answer your questions about a career or about other areas of the country? Many NMSU students have never been out of the state so they have no idea what it might be like for example, in New Jersey. If you would like to be listed, please email your name, address, and vocation to alumni@nmsu.edu or call at 1.866.678.2586 (toll free).
